GOD GAVE ME "YOU," SISTER
© Antoinette McDonald

God brought us together as sisters
So we can share all our hopes and dreams
To share our laughter and our tears
Sometimes to get mad and even fight
To hold each other up when we are down
Together the bond we have will remain strong
There were so many times I hated you
But now it is only you I can trust
I’ll be here for you no matter what
You’ll always be in my heart
Am glad that you are of my blood
Don’t know what I’d do without you in my life.
If you need a shoulder to cry on I’ll be here
I am here when you are sad and lonely
Or when you’re in pain
Glad I can help you when you’re feeling gray
I’m thankful to you that you’re my sister
I can honestly say I’m grateful to God for giving me a sister like YOU!

=MOMS=

Millions of dewdrops greet the dawn,
As hungry of bees buzz the clover,
Dazzling butterflies flutter about,
As moms give love the world over.

Lessons learned at our mother’s knee,
Last a lifetime till we grow older,
Popping up when troubles accrue,
Like a whispering angel on our shoulder.

Gods gives us friends that mean so much,
Children, fathers, sisters and brothers,
Though far, far above all the rest,
No one loves us more than our mothers.

In and out of friendships, jobs and partners,
Our mothers always remain our evening star.
Those who where born to a selfish mom,
Make the rest us realize how lucky we are.

How great life is to have a good mom,
Who reads what we feel but can’t say.
Nothing means as much, as her tender touch,
And for all who are without one, “we pray
.”

MY DEAR AUNTS!

As I count my blessings
I can't help but think of you ©
Dear to me in childhood years and all my whole life through.
Everything seems sweeter
just in knowing that you're there.
Always feeling you're sincere ©
in showing that you care.
Remember all the times we shared © ©
so many days in laughter ?
A fairy tale of never ending happily ever after.
Understanding comes so easy © ©
it's a mystery.
No one else can share my thoughts ©
You think the same as me.
Together on the family tree we make a perfect pair . . .
We're blessed with a relationship so precious
And so rare.

A SPECIAL FRIEND

I'd like to be the sort of friend that you have been to me;
I'd like to be the help that you've been always glad to be;
I'd like to mean as much to you each minute of the day
As you have meant, old friend of mine,
to me along the way.
I'd like to do the big things and the splendid things for you,
To brush the gray from out your skies and leave them only blue;
I'd like to say the kindly things that I so oft have heard,
And feel that I could rouse your soul the way that mine you've stirred.
I'd like to give you back the joy that you have given me,
Yet that were wishing you a need I hope will never be;
I'd like to make you feel as rich as I,
who travel onUndaunted in the darkest hours with you to lean upon.
I'm wishing at this time that I could but repay
A portion of the gladness that you've strewn along my way;
And could I have one wish, this only would it be:
I'd like to be the sort of friend that you have been to me.

My Best Friend
by Athena

Once was here
now is gone
I will always love forever
the laughs
the tears
the smiles
without her,
my life has no direction
no ups nor downs
no smiles or frowns
I miss her
I cry
I see her
I lie
what ever went wrong
I can mend
I will always
love forever
my very best friend.

GRADUATION

I remember the first day of middle school

I made new friends that were so cool

But the time has come

Eighth grade has to be done

Graduation is almost here

I cant believe it has been three years

This year went by so fast

And my friends made this year such a blast

I don't want to leave

Its just like school has just begun

Teachers taught us a lot of things

Things next year high school may bring

How is high school going to be?

I will just have to wait and see

Man,I don't need to worry about that now

I just want to graduateIts been a long wait

I cant wait to see my family in the crowd,

Cheering and being proud

I know my mom is going to cry

Forget this long waitLets go graduate!

What is a Blog?

So what is a Blog anyway? I am asked every week via emails, conversation and Instant Messaging chats to define: ‘what is a blog’. If you’re reading this you may well be asking the same question.
There are a number of ways I could answer this question ranging from the broad to the highly technical.
Before I define the ‘what is a blog’ question - here are a few definitions from other much wiser people to get us started:
‘A weblog is a hierarchy of text, images, media objects and data, arranged chronologically, that can be viewed in an HTML browser.’
Source
‘A frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and Web links.’
Source
‘From “Web log.” A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is “blogging” and someone who keeps a blog is a “blogger.”‘
Source
‘A weblog is kind of a continual tour, with a human guide who you get to know. There are many guides to choose from, each develops an audience, and there’s also comraderie and politics between the people who run weblogs, they point to each other, in all kinds of structures, graphs, loops, etc.’

‘A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is “blogging” and someone who keeps a blog is a “blogger.” Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog. Postings on a blog are almost always arranged in cronological order with the most recent additions featured most prominantly.’

‘A blog is a website in which items are posted on a regular basis and displayed in reverse chronological order. The term blog is a shortened form of weblog or web log. Authoring a blog, maintaining a blog or adding an article to an existing blog is called “blogging”. Individual articles on a blog are called “blog posts,” “posts” or “entries”. A person who posts these entries is called a “blogger”. A blog comprises text, hypertext, images, and links (to other web pages and to video, audio and other files). Blogs use a conversational style of documentation. Often blogs focus on a particular “area of interest”, such as Washington, D.C.’s political goings-on. Some blogs discuss personal experiences.’
